John is a 1966 graduate of Wellston High School.  John Pelletier moved to Wellston in 1965 at the beginning of his senior year in high school. He is a co-founder in the family business Ponderosa Orchard with his late father Horace Pelletier and mother Vivian Pelletier.  John is one of the founding members of the Wellston OHillCo Society and currently holds the office of Vice President of the Wellston Coal Festival and Chairman of the OHillCo Society’s Community Improvement group.  He also holds a list of titles in the Wellston Community. Including Pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Wellston for the last 22 years and is a past President of the Wellston Rotary club, current President of Jackson County Habitat for Humanity, current Vice President/Treasure of Wellston Ministerial Association, President of Wellston Alumni Association, President of Wellston JVAC Board and a board member of the Jackson County United Fund.  Along with his many community projects he has been the Voice of Wellston for 49 years.  John’s career in broadcasting started in 1968 and was the very first local Play-by-Play sportscaster to broadcast all of Wellston’s Football and basketball games “live” (home and away) from 1971 to 1986.  This led to the first live Wellston High School baseball broadcasts and the founding of the longest running local “Live” sports talk show…The Bob Willis Sports Show. 

Connie is a graduate of Vinton County Consolidated.  Connie moved to Wellston in 1979 starting her 20 year career with American Electric Power. Connie is also civic minded and involved in many organizations.  She is the founder of Making Wellston Beautiful, Past President of Wellston Rotary, organizer for the National Women’s Day of Prayer, member of the Wellston Main Street group, the Mayor’s Partnership for Progress, Substance Abuse Prevention & Addiction Resource Council (SPARC), the Jackson County Summer Manufacturing Institute, RSVP of Ohio Valley, Jackson County Economic Development Partnership, Ohio Means Jobs Local Advisory Council, Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission, Wellston Police Auxiliary and the current President of the Wellston Women’s Jr. Study club.  Connie was the City of Wellston Treasure from 2008 to 2012, the 2014 Jackson County Republican of the Year and currently holds the Office of Mayor for the City of Wellston.  As mayor Connie has brought many capital improvements to the City.  Her most recent and notable achievement was spearheading the City’s “coming out” of fiscal emergency in June of 2017.

John and Connie have five children Jona Bates (Jeffery), Michael Pelletier (Melissa Arndt), Ryan Pelletier (Ashley), Bart Wiseman (Dana), Britney Pelletier (Jerrod Morris) and grandchildren Cameron, Conner, John Taylor, Jayce, Hayden, Bailey, Joel, Rylan and Barton.
