Pastor Tim Jones

Tim Jones was born at Holzer of Gallipolis and reared in Wellston.  He spent most of his high school career mowing lawns, working at The Porterhouse and marching in the Wellston High School Marching Band.  After graduating from Wellston High School in 1994, Tim attended Berea College of Berea, Kentucky where he majored in Chemistry and minored in German and graduated in 1998.  It was at Berea where he met his wife Audrey, originally of Boones Camp Kentucky.  They were married in June of ’98 and together they have two boys: Christopher, a freshman at Wellston High and Ethan, a seventh grader.  Tim’s wife Audrey is currently the manager of Children’s Programs at Hopewell Health Centers with an office in Jackson and McArthur.  After Berea, they moved to Virginia where Tim attended the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and pastored for ten years.

In 2008 Tim and his family moved back to Wellston where he served as the Coordinator for the American Red Cross in Jackson County and as an independent contractor with the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency.  In March of 2009 he became pastor of Grace Baptist Fellowship.

Tim enjoys traveling, having visited Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, Brazil, Great Britain and the Bahamas, mostly on education and mission trips.  He also enjoys trying out new recipes in the kitchen and working on the family’s hobby farm where they raise chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats and pigs.

Tim is a member of the Rotary Club and currently serves as Vice President of the Wellston Band Boosters, Vice President of the United Fund of Jackson County, trustee of the Wellston Ministerial Association, Jackson County Public Information Officer, Secretary Board of trustees for the Jackson Vinton Community Action Agency, Jackson Area Ministries Board of Directors, Educational Services Center Advisory Council and as Wellston Fire Department Chaplain.
